Michael offers one to one and small group tuition
Michael has over 10 years teaching experience: higher education/degree level at Camberwell College of Arts in London and enthuastic evening class students at Bromley Adult Education Institute in Kent. This enables him to work with a wide range of abilities; to date his youngest thrower is three years old and eldest over 70!
Beginners welcome: No experience is necessary. You will learn the basic skills of throwing and glazing. You will make a variety of pots over the six weeks.
Intermediate: Michael will spend time talking with you about what you want to achieve and work with you accordingly. This might be honing throwing skills, or developing decorative designs.
Advanced: Michael has worked with past students helping them to apply for formal ceramic courses awarding a qualification such as City & Guilds.
While most students opt for the basic package of six weeks of 2-hour lessons, Michael is happy to discuss individual requirements:
• lesson request “I can throw but I really want to learn about glazing and make my own recipes”
• fitting in with work and/or family commitments “I can only manage half a day once a month, can I come for a 4 hour session?”
A two hour lesson costs £30.00. Completed glazed and fired work is charged at £3.00 per 500g.
